Certain canines have an innate ability to sense when somebody is in danger and will take the necessary actions to assist them. A perfect example of such a dog is this adorable one, who recently rescued a baby bird from peril.
Viviana Davila shared an incredible story about her furry friend, Hiro. Hiro has always been a well-behaved dog, and he proved it once again when he alerted Davila to a tiny creature in peril. The two were spending a lazy afternoon in their backyard in Puerto Rico when Hiro noticed something by the fence line. Without hesitation, he got up to investigate. Davila couldn’t tell what it was, but she saw Hiro licking at it before looking back at her.
Viviana Davila noticed that Hiro was staring at something, which signaled to her that he wanted her to see it. Curious, she got up and went over to check it out. Davila recalled that the stare was an indication that something interesting was happening and she approached Hiro to find out more.
As she glanced at the grass, Viviana Davila noticed something unusual and peered closely to discover a tiny emerald-colored parrot nestled amongst the blades. The feathered creature appeared vulnerable and lethargic, prompting Davila to handle it with care and wrap it gently in a soft cloth before carrying it back to her abode.
According to Viviana Davila, as soon as she saw the situation, she hurried to grab a towel and scoop the helpless individual up. She mentioned that the person was extremely vulnerable and lacked any means of protecting themselves.

Once Hiro had saved the life of a baby bird, Davila praised him for being such a good boy. However, she was worried about the bird’s condition and consulted a veterinarian for advice. The vet disclosed that the bird was a young Quaker Parrot that had fallen out of its nest and was now paralyzed. Typically, the vet would have recommended euthanasia, but the bird’s fighting spirit convinced them otherwise. Since Davila wanted to give the bird a chance at life, she decided to take it home with her and named it Hope.
After returning home, something extraordinary occurred. Hiro stayed by the bird’s side and kept a close eye on her. Hope was nurtured and looked after, and as she regained her strength, Hiro found his new calling in life – to be her constant companion. Hiro and Hope became inseparable, and not only did Hiro rescue her from danger, but he also gave her a safe haven and became her closest companion. Viviana Davila shared that taking care of Hope has been an incredible experience for their family. Each day, they learn about resilience from Hope and about compassion and friendship from Hiro.
