Walking her two dogs, Todd and Cooper, on a beautiful morning in Anthem, USA, Paula Godwin almost stepped on a rattlesnake without noticing it. Fortunately, 6-month-old Golden Retriever Todd was quick to react and jumped between his owner and the dangerous reptile, taking the bite intended for Paula. Despite being bitten on the face, Todd managed to save his owner’s life. Paula rushed the poor puppy to the nearest vet clinic where he received anti-venom treatment and was kept under observation for the rest of the day. In an update on her Facebook page, Paula shared that Todd is now recovering well and already back on his feet. She considers Todd to be her hero and thanks the man upstairs for watching over her. Todd has since become an internet sensation and is widely acclaimed as a hero.
On a relaxed morning stroll with her two furry companions, Paula experienced something out of the ordinary last Friday.
Godwin shared on Facebook about a gorgeous morning walk that turned into a close encounter with danger as they almost stepped on a rattlesnake while descending the hill.

A 6-month-old puppy named Todd bravely protected his owner from a dangerous reptile by jumping in between them and taking the bite intended for the human.
As I was about to be bitten, a hero unexpectedly appeared and placed himself in front of my leg. This brave act saved me from harm’s way. It goes to show that heroes come in all shapes and sizes.
As soon as Todd was bitten, he was swiftly taken to the veterinarian who administered an anti-venom injection and monitored him for the remainder of the day to ensure his well-being.
Todd’s owner posted an update on her Facebook page yesterday, sharing a picture of Todd in the park and letting everyone know that he’s doing much better after his recent recovery. She happily reports that he’s already back up and running around like his usual playful self.
Without a doubt, Todd is someone I greatly admire and look up to. It’s important for me to acknowledge that I also believe there is a higher power watching over me and keeping me safe.
